AGSCO Corporation – Expanding  Mid-West Operations

AGSCO Corporation, a leading supplier of industrial minerals, abrasives, equipment, and specialists in toll blending and packaging, is expanding its Wheeling, IL operation due to high customer demand.

 “We’ve had a very strong 2011 breaking all sales projections,” says Mike Michaelis, VP of Operations for the Wheeling, IL facility. “This has required us to purchase new equipment just to keep up with customer orders and to add an additional 15,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing and distribution space.”

Rob Kirschbaum, VP of Operations in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ says, “We’ve experienced the same growth here in the Metro NY/NJ area and find business to be very strong.  We expect to expand our East Coast operations in the near future.  We see this as a good sign for the economy in 2012.”

Strong markets include industrial end users, toll blending, commercial flooring, sandblasting, and bridge & road projects.

Expanding industrial sales necessitates additional account representatives

AGSCO Corp, an ISO 9001-2008 company and national supplier of abrasives, industrial minerals,  sand blasting equipment, custom toll blending and packaging services is seeking  talented, outside sales persons.  Duties include but are not limited to: making calls to prospective new customers, generating new leads, meeting with contractors, architects, building owners and Fortune 100/500 companies, using a problem solving approach to selling products, and implementing  relationship selling to retain customers.  The successful candidates should be personable, self motivated, goal orientated and “hands on.”  The sales territory extends from the Metro New York area through New Jersey and Pennsylvania to Virginia.  Competitive salary and commission with excellent growth potential.  Submit resume to Rob Kirschbaum, VP, at rob@agsco.com.

Requirements for the position: Bachelor's degree preferred, knowledge of abrasives and industrial minerals, general construction practices, including knowledge of floor coatings, epoxy resin systems, and sand blasting techniques, also preferred.  Willingness and ability to spend extended periods of time outdoors demonstrating equipment training and working with crews.  Handy with tools a plus.  Industrial sales experience preferred, but not required.

AGSCO Expands Blasting Equipment Service in the Chicago and NY/NJ Metro Areas

AGSCO Corporation, an Industrial Minerals and Abrasive Blasting Equipment Distributor based in the Chicago and the New York/New Jersey metro areas, has recently upgraded and expanded its service department to satisfy the needs of our abrasive blasting customers.  Blast equipment is generally used in a rough environment and often can meet with unexpected breakdowns.  AGSCO has long supported the equipment it sells with service in the field and at its service centers.  “In addition to our field sales representatives, who can do minor repairs and consultation on the spot, we have put on more repair mechanics to get our customers back to work faster”, commented Harvey Plonsker, President.

AGSCO forms strategic partnership with Clifford Estes after 3M exits market

AGSCO Corporation has historically been one of the largest distributors and blenders of 3M Colorquartz for flooring or pool applications.  However, in 2009, 3M withdrew Colorquartz from the marketplace leaving the industry scrambling to find a quality replacement for their customers.  In an extensive qualification process, AGSCO identified Clifford Estes’ Ceramaquartz granules as a viable alternative to 3M.

However, one problem in a seamless transition from 3M to Estes products still existed.  The colors, sizing, and grain shape of the two product lines did not match. In partnership with AGSCO, Estes agreed to match all of the established 3M colors, sizing, and grain shape, making the modified Ceramaquartz product nearly indistinguishable from the former market leader. All the popular colors in the former S- and T-grades will be produced in the Ceramaquartz product line.

AGSCO will continue to provide you with pallets or truckloads of ceramically bonded granules including the complete Estes’ colored aggregate product line, and vinyl chips.
